May President's Update

I am pleased to say things are much different for May 2021 compared to May 2020.  Last year at this time we were having to decide on if we would have a convention.  This year we are back on track and have held our Spring planning meeting in Fargo.  Only 78 days until the 2021 Convention, Prayin’ 4 Pyro. The site is much the same and some nice improvements have been made and others were in progress while we were there.  One nice improvement I would like to mention is that there will be a concrete floor in the arena we use for afterglows.  They are adding heating and air conditioning to that building as well.

May 1st was our Spring planning meeting in Fargo.  This very productive meeting was one of our most economical due to many of our key chairs joining us via ZOOM.  Since we have been to Fargo many times before much of the planning is the same as previous conventions.  Your July bulletin will have the final details, and you will notice we are using many of the same buildings our last time in Fargo.

Red River Valley Fairgrounds has tickets listed for sale for the 3 display nights. Saturday, Sunday, and Friday nights. https://www.redrivervalleyfair.com/p/tickets

Bruce, our VP of Communication, has completed the May-June Bulletin, which has been mailed and you will see it arriving now.  Make note of the Changes and Update page.

So, keep those convention registrations coming in, and remember that May is the last month you can register for the convention without paying the increased late registration fee. Take advantage of the lower convention registration price by mailing your form in so it arrives by June 1, 2021.

Also note that Julie will have new hours on Saturday, Aug 7th since there is a public display that night. Registration will be open from 10 am to 8 pm. Arrive late and not preregistered you will have to wait until Sunday to get registered.
