March President's Report

"Let's Go Fargo," is still our focus.  While the major topic this month is what will happen next with the COVID-19 situation our convention is still on.  At this point the Board is planning and preparing for our convention in Fargo.  We are moving full speed ahead as we put together another exciting pyro adventure. Please plan to join us there.

The convention registration form is included in your next bulletin which was mailed March 11th. While you can register now, Julie is waiting on the materials she uses for badges and once that arrives, she will begin processing registrations for the convention. Take advantage of the lower registration price until June 1, 2020.


Once again, we are seeking donations of both funds and product for the All- Stars. 

The leaders of the All-Stars are;  David Maschino - Chair; Jim Widmann, Co-Chair;  and Tom Sklebar, Co-Chair; and they are asking for your support through donation of shell building materials, the contribution of pre-built pyrotechnic articles, your time as a volunteer to build shells on site, and through your monetary donations. 

If you desire to pre-build and incorporate your custom-built shell or article, call or email David at least twenty days before the convention so we may plan accordingly. Competitors why not make one for competition and one for the All-Stars. This is just an early notice to be ready to donate in some manner to this great aspect of our annual convention.  Please contact any of the 3 listed above for current questions.                                                                                                                                                                                                       

The Board has also signed a three year agreement with Whova, an application you can download for an electronic version of the convention schedule.  We used this for the first time in Gillette and plan to make even better use of this app at Fargo. This app also has social media aspects and create your own schedule features that PGI members can use.    You can download the app for free right now at your app Store- Whova-Event & Conference App.  You will not see the convention at this point but can see some of the features and other conferences that use this app.  You can create your account which will then be in place when we start uploading the PGI convention information.  We will still print the Pocket guide with the schedule for this convention.  More information on using this app will be presented in upcoming updates and on our website.


 I hope this finds you all COVID-19 free and successfully handling all the new challenges.  I personally think we are about to turn the corner and get ahead of this virus.
