2011 Convention - Seminars

Presenters

The PGI is now accepting applications from presenters for seminars and workshops to be held at the 2011 Convention. If you would like to present a seminar or workshop at the convention, please download and complete the Seminar Application. Instructions for submitting your application can be found on the forms cover page. Be sure to clearly identify any live material you will need and how much time you need for your presentation and discussion. All seminar applications must be approved by the Safety Team.

Overview

At every convention, there is a wide variety of seminars and workshops that appeal to all members of the Guild and their families. The content ranges from simple to complex, from party favors for children of all ages to advanced multi-break shell construction.

The preliminary schedule and pre-registration info will be provided in the July Bulletin. This page will be updated as changes occur. A final schedule of events will be listed in the convention program.

Early registration will be available for some seminars and workshops that have a fee and limited class size. On site registration is available on the first and second day of the convention. Only classes that require a fee and are limited in size require any form of registration and many allow pre-registration of up to 1/2 of the available spots. Most seminars and workshops are show up and enjoy. Do not feel that you are missing out if a few workshops fill up, some always do but most are not limited in size and are FREE.

Pre-registration is planned to run from 6:00 PM CDT, Friday July 22 until midnight, Wednesday, July 27 for those few seminars and workshops that must limit the number of participants or charge a fee. This is a bit earlier than prior years so please take note. There is no formal method of preregistering. Just send an email to identifying who you are and what seminar(s) you want to take. Identify each person by name that you are trying to register. Include a cell number if you can. You must come to seminar registration on Saturday or Sunday of convention to confirm your registration and pay your fees. (Cash only and correct change, please).

Anyone planning to take the Display Operators course is HIGHLY encouraged to pre-register, (exception to the rule). Those registered still need to come to Seminar Registration to pay the fees (again, exact cash please) and get the workbook and read it (if you never have) before the class on Wednesday.

2011 will have an amazing number of hands-on workshops, as well as the typical array of other classes. There will be lots for people to see, things to do and enjoy. Please plan to be a part of the 2011 PGI Convention!
