PGI 2011 Convention
The Pyrotechnics Guild International, Inc. presents the PGI's
2011 Convention "Rhapsody on the Red" Saturday, August 6 through
Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds in West Fargo, ND.
Only PGI Members, who pay the Convention Fee, are eligible to attend Convention events such as
seminars, manufacturing, trade-show, supply sales and Class C vending.
Members of the general public may purchase tickets from the Red River Valley Fair for the Public Displays that will be held on
Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday night.
1) No split convention site!!! The entire convention is held on
one site, with the banquet being the only activity not held at the Red
River Valley Fairgrounds.
2) New permanent building/shower facility onsite for the campers.
3) On Monday, we'll feature an evening of JUST competition. The
site will be closed to the public and ours to enjoy. Competition will be
in prime time and not too late. This was a very enjoyable feature
started in 2008 and I think you'll like it again in 2011.
4) There will be expanded amounts of dark sky available for open
shooting on Saturday and Thursday - and time for a relaxing dinner with
friends and to socialize on site and see what each of you have made to
shoot.
5) Yes, what have you made to shoot? With a lot of hard work and
creativity, we are providing two manufacturing sites as before: large
device/invitation only and small devise/open to all members.
6) Class C vending will have a huge area and there will be plenty
of room to shoot and enjoy this to your heart's content. Class C vendors again are going to try to offer food for the stomach
as well as candy for the eyes. And because the location of Class C
shooting does not interfere with competition, Class C shooting/vending
is open nearly all night every night.
7) Fred Hopper, your After Glow Chair well - really a Food and
Beverage Czar - promises superb After Glow meals again. They're much
more than just a snack.
8) There will be incredible live material seminars at the RRVF
site. Come learn from the masters - old and new!
9) Spending a week with fellow pyros at the world's largest
fireworks event is always a joy - every minute of every day and night.
You know you'll just kick yourself if you miss this one. So, start
making plans and reservations now, to attend our most frequented
convention site. Come on up and have a BLAST! Please check this page
regularly as it will be updated with further convention-specific details
when available.
Please check back regularly for additional information about the
convention.
